To me art is all about documenting the “now”. It is one individual’s statement about what they feel at that moment, their visual picket sign. This show is centered on change. It is not meant to be viewed as either good or evil but as a constant occurrence in life. The change represented here deals with my family’s experiences right now. What is happening can be seen throughout many towns and counties in Colorado. We all deal with the change from our smaller country towns to a more commercialized landscape.
There is great positive in change, but with every positive there is also a negative to something or someone. New roads make for faster and ever expanding transportation, but what was there before the road? Who owned or what inhabitants were where you are driving, shopping, living now? Being replaced with the newest and quickest is our economy and way of life, something must go in order for that to happen. These images are to inform you of what is happening and a dramatic look at what is to come.
No one person is to blame or am I trying to criticize any modernization.
